Stacey Davidson relocated to Rock Hill, South Carolina in 2011 to take an assistant professorship in painting at Winthrop University. She lived in St. Paul, Minnesota for 14 years as a practicing artist and teacher. The Minneapolis College of Art and Design (MCAD), University of Wisconsin-Stout, Carleton College, and Normandale Community College are among the places she's taught. She received a B.F.A. in painting from the Maryland Institute, College of Art (MICA) and an MFA in painting from the University of Cincinnati. She has won fellowships from the Ohio Arts Council, the Minnesota State Arts Board, the McKnight Foundation (1999-2000 and 2007-8), and the Bush Foundation (2000). Her work is in the collections of the Minneapolis Institute of Arts, the Weisman Art Museum, and the Cleveland Museum of Art. She is represented by Marlborough Gallery, NY. Her most recent solo exhibition was with Marlborough Fine Art, Ltd., London (2010). In spring of 2011 she performed Studio Practice at Open Eye Figure Theatre as part of the Toy Theater After Dark, a festival of small scale puppet/object performance. She recently received a grant from the Arts and Science Council, Charlotte/Mecklenberg Inc. Davidson will exhibit new work in 2013 at the Staniar Gallery of Washington and Lee University.
