Frances Howorth (she/her/hers) is an arts marketing professional with over fifteen years of experience in some of the nation's leading arts institutions. She is currently the Director of Marketing and Communications for Duke Arts at Duke University, where she provides strategic support for an expansive portfolio of programs and initiatives, including Duke Arts Presents (formerly Duke Performances).

Prior to joining the Duke Arts team, Frances served as Director of Marketing and Digital Strategy for Off-Broadway's Irish Repertory Theatre, where she led the company's transition to become “the leader in streaming theater productions” (Theatermania) during the COVID-19 shutdown and was interviewed by The New York Times. Frances previously worked in Marketing at Jazz at Lincoln Center and The Town Hall, and in the Artistic Department at American Ballet Theatre.

Frances holds a Masters' Degree in Performing Arts Administration from New York University and a bachelor's degree from Barnard College of Columbia University. She was a participant in the Emerging Leaders in the Arts program from the New York Foundation for the Arts and has presented about digital event marketing for Capacity Interactive and Davenport Theatricals. She is originally from Oxford, Mississippi.
