Dr. Young is a Barrister and Solicitor of the High Court of Australia and Supreme Court of New South Wales in Australia, presently Vice President Academic and Provost at Edduus. Previously an Associate Professor and Director of Institutional Effectiveness at Rabdan Academy (Abu Dhabi - UAE) and prior to this was at Zayed University (UAE). Here he led the development of the interdisciplinary major in Multimedia Design and worked on various institutional and college accreditation and evaluation regimes. Dr. Young was twice bestowed with an exemplary faculty award from Zayed University. Dr. Young’s Ph.D encompassed the fields of program evaluation, professional development, and technology. He has research publications and book chapters in these areas that span three decades. In Australia Dr. Young coordinated for a number of years Educational Design within Griffith University's Flexible Learning Initiative, leading a large multi-disciplinary team of faculty and staff while also teaching at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels in educational technology. During this time, he was the recipient of multiple university strategic initiative grants and was awarded research funding. Coupled with this academic lineage, he has commercial exposure as the Director of Multimedia at a leading Australian television and film production facility; was musical director of live theatre productions at the Brisbane’s Arts Theatre; and was a registered elementary school teacher. He is also a classical pianist having achieved a Licentiate of Trinity College, London. In addition to research supervision Dr. Young has taught at both at the undergraduate and graduate levels with courses including (but not limited to) IT Policy, Ethics and Law (including Cyber Law), Higher Education Management (Institutional Effectiveness and Quality Assurance), New Media/Interactive Multimedia Development and Human Computer Interaction.
