The College of Visual and Performing Arts provides a variety of scholarships every year to current and incoming students. We know how important it is to have financial assistance for higher education, and we are happy to be able to provide these opportunities for our students. •The portfolio and essay scholarship competition is for prospective fine art students
(studio art, art education, & art history) who plan to join Winthrop University’s
Department of Fine Arts for the first time (freshman and transfer students only).
•The Department of Fine Arts also invites current students majoring in Fine Arts to apply for merit-based scholarships. Awards will be based on the quality of portfolio
or written work submitted during the application process.
An entrance audition is required for acceptance into the Department of Music degree
programs. Students who audition are also eligible for scholarship consideration.
