ROCK HILL, SOUTH CAROLINA - The Winthrop University Board of Trustees approved raising undergraduate student tuition rates by 2.5 percent for the 2015-2016 academic year.

Trustee Glenn McCall said the proposed increase is the lowest increase the board has considered in the past 16 years.
