Our Vision and Mission

The vision of the Richard W. Riley College of Education, Sport, and Human Sciences is to provide personalized learning facilitated by highly qualified personnel in a facility that has state of the art technology and 21st century learning spaces and to graduate professionals who are prepared to positively impact a global society. Thus, the College of Education, Sport, and Human Sciences will enhance relationships with all public and private PK-12 schools and other community and business stake holders by increasing partnerships and providing opportunities for collaboration and innovation. The educators of the College of Education, Sport, and Human Sciences will embrace the implementation of authentic experiences for all students with an emphasis on innovative pedagogical practices and human relationship skills.

Educational Leadership

To support this vision, the mission of the Educational Leadership program is to prepare future school leaders to be visionary and culturally astute educators, pedagogically skilled practitioners who can improve student achievement, efficient managers of their organization, community collaborators who advocate for all children, and consistently demonstrate high ethical standards in all aspects of the Principalship. Program specific knowledge and skills: proficiency in twenty one specific standards and indicators as determined by the Educational Leadership Constituent Council.
