How has being a Close Scholar impacted your college experience?
Through the Close Scholars program, I have been able to connect with like-minded peers with similar goals of supporting our community. Through the professional development training provided in the program, I have been able to build self-advocacy skills. I also developed my time management skills as I juggled schooling, volunteerism, and work.
What has been your favorite community service experience and why?
I love all the events run by the York County Museums. Throughout the year they find creative ways to engage children of all ages in educational family events. I tend to see familiar faces at all the events that I go to. Families find it to be a great choice for a weekend activity.
What advice would you give to incoming students interested in serving our community?
I encourage you to engage in events that match your future goals. When you are dedicated to your volunteer site the amount of required hours is not taxing. Stay consistent and engaged and you will get so much out of your experiences.
Where do you see yourself in five years?
I see myself still being engaged within my community while striving to be the best educator I can for my students. I will be working towards getting a master's degree in education to someday become a principal.
What is your favorite thing to do on campus or in surrounding areas?
I love to go on the swings on Scholars Walk to get some fresh air and spend time with friends.
Where would you like to travel to and why?
I would love to travel to the Bahamas because of its beautiful scenery and peaceful beaches.

I love to write poetry and create artwork during my free time.
