The Bachelor of Science in Digital Information Design degree program combines existing coursework from four departments in three different colleges to produce graduates capable of applying related concepts from graphic design, marketing, mass communication and computing. A student in this major will gain traditional area-specific knowledge for training in careers within the domains of digital communication and electronic commerce. Students will complete a core set of courses in digital information design, while also pursuing one of three specialties.
Students in the Digital Commerce track will study business statistics and analytics, electronic commerce, multimedia storytelling, advertising, marketing, and more.
The Web Application Design curriculum includes a focus on computer imaging, digital culture, user experience design, programming, web development, and more.
The Digital Mass Media concentration focuses on multimedia storytelling and production, including television, digital news and video, documentary film, broadcast journalism, public relations, and more.
Students have access to specialized equipment and software including digital editing software, scanners, digitizing tablets, high-speed laser printers and large format color plotters.
