The finalist for Winthrop University's library dean position will be interviewed on campus February 5 and 6, 2024 with a public presentation on February 6 at 12:30 p.m. in Owens G02 on Winthrop’s Rock Hill campus. The finalist is Jackie McFadden, interim dean of Ida Jane Dacus Library & Louise Pettus Archives; Winthrop University.

Dr. Beth Greene Costner, dean of the College of Education, Sport, and Human Sciences, chaired the five-member search committee. The university conducted a national search to find a good slate of candidates who could serve as the university’s chief university librarian and guide the academic direction of Ida Jane Dacus Library & Louise Pettus Archives. ”Identifying a qualified and creative leader for the Dacus Library and Pettus Archives is essential to growing collections, developing spaces, and identifying resources supportive of a thriving university,” said Costner.

Members of campus and local communities are encouraged to attend the finalist's public presentation. Feedback on the candidate is welcomed.
