Willie Ruth Aiken is the operations manager for the Department of Chemistry, Physics, Geology and the Environment at Winthrop. Aiken has worked in the chemistry field for over 25 years. She has held several positions such as chemical laboratory analyst, trainer, and safety representative, ISO 9000 quality specialist, lead auditor, research and development technical specialist, quality control chemist, and chemistry laboratory manager. In the industrial world, Aiken was recognized and rewarded for her performance and service as the Lead ISO Quality Auditor at Celanese Corporation. This reward included having the best auditor's checklist for ISO 9002 internal audits, auditing, safety, and excellent work ethics.
Aiken and her husband are the proud parents of one daughter and a son-in-law. On weekends, she teaches Women's Bible Study at her church, Turn Around Ministry (TAM).
