Faculty & Staff Profiles

Professor Howle, a native of South Carolina, completed his undergraduate and master's degrees at Winthrop (1996 and 1999). While working on his master's degree, Howle worked briefly as the safety director of Winthrop and assisted with a program designed to help freshmen students in their mathematics classes (the STEP Program).  In 2000, Howle joined the ranks of high school math teachers as an educator in the Rock Hill School District. Not wanting to sever ties with Winthrop, Chris continued working with the STEP Program. Eventually he became a part-time instructor. Currently, Howle is a teacher at South Pointe High School during the day and a Winthrop lecturer in the evenings. He is happily married with four children. In his free time, Howle focuses his time on his family and friends.
