Faculty & Staff Profiles

Professor Jordan has taught higher education at the University of West Georgia, at Wake Technical College, at York Technical College, and now at Winthrop. Her courses have included "American Literature," "Composition," "Critical Reading, Thinking, and Writing," "The Human Experience," "Greek Mythology," and "Professional Communications."

American writers from the 1929s and 1930s are a special area of interest for Jordan, and she has developed a course that focuses on their time in Paris and includes a visit to that city. Her classes in Greek mythology include a trip to Greece as well. She hopes to develop additional courses that will allow similar primary research opportunities for students.

Jordan is a big supporter of the arts and frequently volunteers with groups that sponsor arts events for the community. Currently, she serves on the Board of Directors of York County Ballet. Parents of two sons and two daughters, she and her husband, a management recruiter, reside in Rock Hill.
