Nikole J. Kidd, LMSW, is the new Director of Field Education in the Social Work Field Office at Winthrop University. Mrs. Kidd will provide leadership and oversight of all field education activities for the BSW and MSW programs, including the development of field courses, providing training to course and field instructors, and developing and evaluating placement opportunities to ensure all activities are compliant with the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE), Educational Policies and Academic Standards.  

Prior to her new role at Winthrop, Mrs. Kidd worked as the MSW Field Director at Johnson C. Smith University, where she managed the overall administration of field education. She has also served as a Field Instructor as well as an Adjunct Faculty member and Field Liaison. Her professional experience includes work in nonprofit leadership, child welfare, program evaluation, and curriculum development. 

She holds a master’s degree in social work from Howard University with a concentration in Community, Administration, and Policy Practice and a bachelor’s degree in social work from Andrews University. With her background and experience, Mrs. Kidd strives to promote the development of student’s professional competence by providing meaningful learning experiences that afford students the opportunity to integrate social work research and practice. She is devoted to motivating her students and ensuring they are fully equipped to best serve their future clients.
