Dr. Aimee Meader teaches courses in multimedia and storytelling production, advanced broadcast journalism, and digital news and video production.

Dr. Meader's research examines the psychological underpinnings of ideology and its impact on the citizenry, with goals of advancing the theories of ideology as motivated social cognition and selective exposure. Her current research agenda explores the role of anxiety in media selection, the impact of the Internet on moral reasoning, and propagandistic appeals in partisan programming. Her most recent work examining the motivations of aspiring journalism students won the Laurence Campbell Award for Outstanding research (Scholastic Division).

As a journalist, Dr. Meader produced a two-hour weekday newscast called Good Morning San Diego.The program included multiple live shots, news segments rooted in enterprise journalism, satellite interviews, and guests.Dr. Meader additionally produced multiple specials, cut-ins, and breaking news reports, such as the Shuttle Columbia disaster, the Ronald Reagan processional, and the death of Terri Schiavo.
