Teaching Fellows Program

Message from the Directors

Welcome to the Winthrop University Teaching Fellows Program page! The mission of the South Carolina Teaching Fellows Program is to recruit talented high school seniors into the teaching profession and help them develop leadership qualities.

The Richard W. Riley College of Education, Sport, and Human Sciences is the flagship teacher education program in South Carolina and the region, and the Winthrop Teaching Fellows Program has been one of the largest and most sought after by students.

Winthrop students work closely with English language learners and in and around Rock Hill schools and community-at-large. These experiences allow students to gain classroom experience and reinforce the importance of service to the community. The program also provides professional development workshops and seminars throughout the semester. Our program provides a unique experience that will better equip Fellows to be productive in the teaching community and in their personal lives!

Please take a few moments to visit our page and see some of the great things going on here at Winthrop!
