Work Requests: Emergencies

Facilities Management Normal Business Hours: Monday through Friday 7 a.m. until 4 p.m.

To report a Facilities Management or Building Emergency during normal business hours, call 803/323-2489. Submit a Work Request after reporting emergency to Facilities Management. 

To report a Facilities Management or Building Emergency after normal business hours, on weekends and holidays, call the Winthrop University Police Department at 803/323-3333. (The Winthrop University Police Department is responsible for contacting the on-call Facilities Management personnel.) Submit a Work Request after reporting emergency to the Winthrop University Police Department. 

Examples of what is considered an emergency:

  • No heat or air conditioning
  • Water dripping on personnel or equipment
  • Water overflowing a sink or toilet
  • Water flowing where it shouldn't be
  • An alarm sounding
  • Loss of electrical power
  • A key will not unlock or lock a door
  • An elevator malfunctioning
  • The sight or smell of smoke
  • A broken window or door
  • Any repair to prevent extensive building damage
  • A sudden, unexpected occurrence demanding immediate action
