    SC Commission on Higher Education (CHE) Data Dashboard - CHE collects and analyzes data from South Carolina colleges and universities. CHE’s Data Dashboard includes data visualizations related to enrollment, scholarship, and degree statistics for all SC institutions.

    National Center for Education Statistics (NCES)-Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System (IPEDS) Data Center - NCES is the primary federal entity responsible for collecting and analyzing higher education data. 

    State Resources

    SC Commission on Higher Education (CHE) - CHE coordinates and conducts oversight of South Carolina’s higher education institutions. The Publications and Reports section provides reports related to funding, tuition and fees, and facilities utilization for SC colleges and universities.

    SC Commission on Higher Education Statistical Abstract - Annual report published by CHE including detailed information about enrollment, degrees awarded, graduation rates, SAT and ACT scores, scholarships, tuition and fees, finance, facilities, and faculty for all SC public institutions.

    National Center for Education Statistics (NCES) - The primary federal entity, located within the U.S. Department of Education, charged with collecting and analyzing education data.     Winthrop University IPEDS Data Feedback Reports - An annual report that graphically summarizes Winthrop’s key data points in comparison with peer institutions.

    National Student Clearinghouse Research Center Persistence & Retention Reports - A series of annual, national reports examining first-year persistence and retention rates for beginning postsecondary students.

      College Navigator - This searchable database of colleges and universities, created by the National Center for Education Statistics, is primarily designed for students and families. 

      U.S. Department of Education College Scorecard - This searchable database of colleges and universities is primarily designed for students and families but includes the option to download various raw data files for further analysis.

      Niche College Search - Includes data pulled from various sources, including the National Center for Education Statistics/IPEDS.

      The Office of Institutional Research completes the following external publisher surveys for Winthrop University. In most cases, the data submitted can be found in the University’s Common Data Set. See the CDS web site for additional information.

      ETS Graduate Record Exam (GRE) Program Survey - The CGS Graduate Enrollment and Degrees report, published annually since 1986, presents the findings of the CGS/GRE Survey of Graduate Enrollment and Degrees, and is a joint project of the Council of Graduate Schools and the Graduate Record Examinations (GRE) Board.

      Food and Agricultural Education Information System (FAEIS) - As a comprehensive unit, FAEIS offers an accessible resource for faculty, higher education administrators and industry professionals to strengthen higher education programs in the food, agricultural and natural resource sciences.

      Higher Education Arts Data Services (HEADS) - The HEADS Project is designed to provide comprehensive management data on the arts in higher education.

      Higher Education Directory (HED) - Database of College and University Leadership and Accreditation.

      Institute of International Education Open Doors - This survey of international exchange activity in the United States is sponsored by the U.S. Department of State with funding provided by the U.S. Government and supported in its implementation by IIE.

      Modern Languages Association (MLA) Higher Ed Survey - Describes lower- and upper-level undergraduate and graduate course enrollments in languages other than English reported by degree granting colleges and universities in the United States. 

      Peterson’s Undergraduate and Graduate Surveys - This comprehensive online college search guide helps students discover their best fit educational program. 

      The Princeton Review - This guide helps students find the best college for them with their college search tool. Compare colleges, get free college admission and financial aid information, and view college profiles online.

      South Carolina Career Occupational Information Survey (SCOIS) - South Carolina's official career information system.

      Survey of Graduate Students & Postdoctorates in Science (GSS)-National Science Foundation (NSF)The Graduate Students and Postdoctorates in Science and Engineering survey is an annual census of all U.S. academic institutions granting research-based master’s degrees or doctorates in science, engineering, and selected health fields as of the fall of the survey year

      U.S. News Best Colleges - Analyzes more than 1,800 colleges. Users can browse school profiles by narrowing down results until finding the ones that are a right fit.

      U.S. News Best Online Colleges - Assesses and ranks over 1,000 online bachelor's and master's degree programs. Users can browse rankings and school profiles.

     

    AIR - The Association for Institutional Research is a global organization empowering higher education professionals to use data, analytics, information, and evidence to make decisions that are effective, ethical, and equitable.

    SAIR - The Southern Association for Institutional Research is a regional branch of AIR.

    SCAIR - The South Carolina Association for Institutional Research is dedicated to research for the improvement of postsecondary education in the state.
