The Department of Institutional Effectiveness administers Winthrop University's Graduating Senior Survey (GSS) one week prior to Commencement to the most recent spring, fall and summer graduating seniors. The GSS includes questions regarding respondents’ satisfaction with Winthrop’s academic and student support programs and services as well as questions regarding post-graduation plans and outcomes.
The Department of Institutional Effectiveness administers Winthrop University's Alumni Survey every other summer, to alumni who were awarded baccalaureate or graduate degrees one to two years prior. Survey questions are designed to gather alumni perceptions related to their experiences while at Winthrop University as well as to gather information about post-graduation outcomes.
The National Survey of Student Engagement (NSSE) collects information about undergraduate experiences from first-year and senior students attending a variety of four-year institutions. The survey explores the extent to which students engage in effective educational practices that are empirically linked with learning, personal development, and other desired outcomes, such as student satisfaction, persistence, and graduation. Winthrop University participates in the NSSE on a three-year cycle.
