Hear From Our Students and Faculty

Beyond Graduation

"With the sports industry being so competitive, it is important to graduate with the skills needed to be successful. The Sport Management program at Winthrop couples a great curriculum with knowledgeable faculty to prepare students for success. The time I spent at Winthrop gave me the learning experience I was looking for. Not only was I receiving a great education, I was also able to take advantage of getting involved with a Division I sports program. Also, with Winthrop's close proximity to Charlotte, the students have ample opportunities to gain valuable experience working in the industry while attending classes. The curriculum gives the students a great overview of the different paths they can pursue in the sports industry. Courses such as Sport Marketing, Sport Law, and Facilities/Event management truly prepared me for my career and opened my eyes to different areas of sport that I had never thought about. My time at Winthrop was invaluable and I recommend this program to anyone who is passionate about working in sports."

"I loved the opportunities it provided for students; particularly the small class sizes. They allowed for a lot of opportunities to get to know faculty and learn from them. Students have unique talents, skills, knowledge and perspectives that can make Winthrop even better… I think my fondest moments come from being able to support my friends through their dance shows, plays, athletic events and more. It was so easy and rewarding to be involved in the Winthrop community and fun to support others."
