ROCK HILL, SOUTH CAROLINA — Each year Winthrop University's incoming group of freshmen boasts leaders, difference-makers, academic achievers and more.

President Dan Mahony and local and campus leaders welcomed the Class of 2022 at the Aug. 20 Convocation in Byrnes Auditorium. Though the rain moved the campus picnic indoors, dreary weather can't keep this outstanding class from shining.
