The finalists for the College of Visual and Performing Arts dean are Jeffrey Bellantoni,
Fred Rubeck and Henry Rinne. Each candidate will participate in interviews with faculty, staff, administrators
and students; each finalist will also give a presentation to Winthrop faculty, staff,
students and interested community members in the Tuttle Dining Room.
ROCK HILL, SOUTH CAROLINA — Three finalists for the position of dean of Winthrop University's College of Visual and Performing Arts will visit the campus for interviews and public presentations between March 19-28.
The finalists are:
Jeffrey Bellantoni, most recently vice president for academic affairs at Ringling College of Art and
Design. He will visit from March 19 — 21.
Fred Rubeck, chair and professor of performing arts at Elon University. He will visit from March
21 — 23.
Henry Rinne, dean and professor of music, College of Fine Arts, at Jacksonville University.
He will visit from March 26 — 28.
Each candidate will participate in interviews with faculty, staff, administrators
and students; each finalist will also give a presentation to Winthrop faculty, staff,
students and interested community members in the Tuttle Dining Room. View dates and

Debra Boyd, Winthrop University provost, noted that the candidates have excellent credentials
and experience, and praised members of the search committee for their good work: "We
all look forward to meeting these candidates, hearing their ideas, and evaluating
their capacity for leading the College of Visual and Performing Arts."
Members of campus and local communities are urged to attend the candidate presentations.
Feedback on each candidate will be solicited by way of electronic survey for those
who participate in the interview process, said Gloria Jones, dean of the University College, who is leading the 12-member search committee.
The College of Visual and Performing Arts is the academic home to more than 650 undergraduate students majoring in 12 areas
and more than 50 graduate students in its six masters programs and one post-baccalaureate
certificate program. The college has a total of 105 faculty members, of whom 52 are
full time and 53 are part-time lecturers who are practicing professionals from the
surrounding metropolitan area.
Winthrop's programs of dance, fine arts, interior design, music and theatre are nationally
accredited. In addition, Winthrop's arts education programs (art, music, theatre and
dance) are accredited through the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education.
