ROCK HILL, SOUTH CAROLINA – As English playwright Michael Frayn watched a play’s performance from the stage wings instead of in the audience, he remarked, “It was funnier from behind than in front, and I thought that one day I must write a farce from behind.” The result was “Noises Off.”*

*“Noises Off” contains mature content and may not be suitable for children.

“Noises Off” follows an acting troupe rehearsing and performing a play-within-a-play – including the dropped lines, high-strung nerves and technical difficulties. While the troupe makes it to “opening night,” the comedy devolves into pure pandemonium! But, as they say, the show must go on. All the while, the audience is treated to a “behind the scenes” peek at the backstage action.

Theatre Instructor Rachel Dawson will direct with theatre major Chloe Morgan stage-managing.

Other performers include students Nekoda Moses; Sydney Largent; Josiah Davion Johnson; Jasmine Diaz; Zachary Cunard; Mackenzie Joy; Isaac Nicolau; Danielle Banks; and Paul Smith.

Tickets are $10 with a Winthrop ID and $15 for the general public. Purchase tickets here.
