Sabrina Habib will be introduced along with the other 24 fellows in Chicago, Illinois,
during the association's 100th convention. The annual workshop/fellowship is designed to help junior women faculty members move
forward in their careers through mentoring and networking. ROCK HILL, SOUTH CAROLINA - Sabrina Habib, an assistant professor of mass communication
at Winthrop University, recently was selected as a 2017 Kopenhaver fellow for the
Association for Education in Journalism and Mass Communication (AEJMC).
She will be introduced along with the other 24 fellows in Chicago, Illinois, during
the association's 100th convention. The annual workshop/fellowship is designed to
help junior women faculty members move forward in their careers through mentoring
and networking.
In addition to training and networking, participants will take part in activities
of both the Commission on the Status of Women and the Lillian Lodge Kopenhaver Center for the Advancement of Women in Communication at Florida International University during the year.
An opportunity will be provided for this 2017 cohort to reunite at subsequent conventions.

Habib joined the Winthrop faculty in 2015 to teach integrated marketing communication courses.
She holds a BFA in photography (2000), an MFA in electronic media (2003), and a Ph.D.
in advertising from the University of Florida (2013).
Prior to her academic experience, she owned a production studio in Gainesville, Florida,
to service advertising clients, local businesses and individuals. Most of her academic
research has focused on the creative process and creative education. However, she
has also performed studies on science communication with emphasis on hydraulic fracturing.
