ROCK HILL, SOUTH CAROLINA - Presidential candidate Marianne Williamson will make an Oct. 28 campaign stop at Winthrop University along with singer Michelle Williams and radio personality Charlamagne Tha God.
The event, billed as a conversation on improving mental health awareness, will last from 2 to 4 p.m. in Dina’s Place, DiGiorgio Campus Center.
Moderating the event will be Melissa Reeves of the Department of Psychology. Winthrop's College Democrats will sponsor the event.
Growing up in Texas in a liberal household, Williamson was taught to pay attention to issues of social justice. A best-selling author, she describes herself as a teacher of transformational wisdom, a successful businesswoman and political activist. This is her second political campaign, after previously running as an independent to represent California’s 33rd congressional district in 2014.
Williams, an American recording artist and actress, is formerly of the group Destiny’s
Child. Charlamagne Tha God is a nationally syndicated radio show host, television
personality and author.
