Presidential Candidate Sen. Kamala Harris to Make Stop at Winthrop

Sen. Kamala HarrisROCK HILL, SOUTH CAROLINA — Presidential candidate and California Democratic Sen. Kamala Harris will make a campaign stop at Winthrop University on Friday, April 19.

The 90-minute event will begin at 7 p.m. in McBryde Hall. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. Tickets can be found on her website. Seating is limited and will be first come, first served.

Winthrop’s College Democrats is co-sponsoring the event.

Harris was elected to the U.S. Senate in 2016. She’s the second African-American woman in history be elected to the U.S. Senate, and previously was the first African-American and the first woman to serve as Attorney General of California.

A graduate of Howard University, Harris earned her law degree from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law. She began her career in the Alameda County District Attorney’s Office, then joined the San Francisco District Attorney’s Office, where she led the Career Criminal Unit.
