Strength and Conditioning Professionals Gather at Winthrop

ROCK HILL, SOUTH CAROLINA – More than 300 professionals will attend the Southeast Regional Conference for the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) meeting Sept. 14 at the Lois Rhame West Health, Physical Education and Wellness Center on the Winthrop University campus.

Eleven sessions will be offered during the day, including presentations by two Winthrop faculty members – Winthrop alumna Joni Boyd and David Schary. Organizers said attendees will earn continuing education credits while expanding their network and increasing their professional know-how with the latest industry research and practical application.

“This is a fantastic opportunity to be able to showcase our beautiful city and campus, engaging programs, and energetic students, alumni, faculty and staff,” said Boyd, who is the NSCA state director for South Carolina.  “We look forward to bringing current and future professionals together in an amazing conference.”

The sessions, beginning at 8 a.m. and lasting to 4 p.m., are:
