ROCK HILL, SOUTH CAROLINA – The Winthrop University Board of Trustees approved three governance items as its July 12 meeting.

The board approved a change to the bylaws that was overlooked in June when members considered a comprehensive bylaws review. Board Chair Glenn McCall said earlier this summer the review was undertaken to determine whether any articles should be eliminated, updated or revised, or any new articles added.

In other action on July 12, the board approved a public comment policy that determines how members of the public may address the board before scheduled meetings. Members also approved an oath of office and code of conduct for themselves, plus a confidentiality agreement that each member will sign regarding the upcoming presidential search.

Other governance changes were voted on at the June 25 meeting.
