WFAE's Charlotte Talks Comes to Winthrop Feb. 16 to Discuss Politics

ROCK HILL, SOUTH CAROLINA - Mike Collins, host of WFAE's award-winning Charlotte Talks, will host a Feb. 16 discussion at Winthrop University about South Carolina's upcoming presidential primaries.

His guests will include two Winthrop political science professors, Adolphus Belk Jr., also director of the African American Studies program, and Scott Huffmon, also director of the Social and Behavioral Research Lab and Winthrop Poll. 

WFAE political reporter Tom Bullock is the third guest.

South Carolina's GOP presidential primary is on Feb. 20, while the Democratic primary will be on Feb. 27.

The Winthrop event will be live from 7 to 8 p.m. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. at Dina's Place, DiGiorgio Campus Center, and close at 6:45 p.m. when guests will need to be in their seats.

It will be broadcast LIVE on WFAE 90.7, with special rebroadcast at 9 a.m. and 9 p.m. the following day.

Event attendees, as well as listeners at home, will have the opportunity to pose questions to Collins and his panel of guests. 

Attendees will be given note cards to write their question prior to the discussion and listeners at home can tweet their questions directly to Collins and the Charlotte Talks producers by using the hashtag #CTSCPrimary16.
