the United States. 
ROCK HILL, SOUTH CAROLINA Winthrop University's National Society of Collegiate Scholars (NSCS) chapter has earned Bronze Star distinction.
Certified by the Association of College Honor Societies, the non-profit honors organization recognizes and elevates high-achieving undergraduates
who excel academically during their first and second years in school. Focusing on
scholarship, leadership and service, NSCS provides career and graduate school connections,
leadership and service experiences, and access to scholarships and other discounts
to high academic achievers.
Mitchell Altman, public relations coordinator for NSCS, noted that earning Bronze
Star distinction is "no easy feat."
Winthrop's chapter has distinguished itself among the more than 320 chapters across
the United States. Awards are based on a points system, and Winthrop's chapter earned
its Bronze Star distinction by holding the new member induction ceremony, attending
the annual Leadership Summit and more.
"The chapter has truly proven their commitment to the ideals that NSCS holds dear,"
Altman wrote. "Their exceptional work is not only a credit to them as a chapter, but
as students of Winthrop University as well."
