Winthrop Students Hold a Video World Premiere and Live Concert on Study Day

  • The project is part of Professor Stephanie Sutton’s Music Videos: Modes of Representation art course this spring. Her students collaborated with Charlotte-area bands to create videos for their original recordings.
  • After the video premieres, which will be hosted by Winthrop alumnus Will Lattman ’19, there will be a live concert by the bands with the following lineup: Ryan Lockhart, Faye, Phaze Gawd, and Complaint Club. 

ROCK HILL, SOUTH CAROLINA - Winthrop University students will host a screening and world premiere of four new music videos during a free public event at the Student Activity Center on April 23. 

The project is part of Professor Stephanie Sutton’s Music Videos: Modes of Representation art course this spring. Her students collaborated with Charlotte-area bands to create videos for their original recordings.

The screening will be shown in person and simultaneously broadcast live on SETV public access television station in Cumberland, Kentucky. The public access television station is based at Southeast Kentucky Community and Technical College. 

After the video premieres, which will be hosted by Winthrop alumnus Will Lattman ’19, there will be a live concert by the bands with the following lineup: Ryan Lockhart, Faye, Phaze Gawd, and Complaint Club. 

This event is a Cultural Event for Winthrop students and free for the public. Doors will open at 6 p.m. and the show is 6:30-8:30 p.m. Event parking is available in the Withers/W.T.S. parking lot and the Eden Terrace and Park Avenue parking lots surrounding the Student Activity Center found at 510 Myrtle Dr. 

The event is supported by Winthrop’s Department of Fine Arts, Don’t Sweat It Fest and Docklands Design.
