Purpose of Organization: To unite outdoor enthusiasts including students, faculty and staff members of the
Winthrop University community in safe and coordinated outdoor activities and service
in the environment. WOAC also strives to provide and nurture diverse opportunities
for all students, faculty, and university staff to expand their enjoyment, knowledge,
and perspective in the outdoors.
Description of Organization: The Winthrop Outdoor Adventure Club was founded in 2006 to bring individuals interested
in outdoor activities together. WOAC provides a diverse environment for individuals
to safely learn and explore the outdoors in activities including whitewater rafting
and kayaking, rock climbing, hiking and camping, mountain biking, and skiing and snowboarding.
WOAC is also committed to the surrounding communities through local projects to better
the places in which we play.
