WHEREAS, the respective Boards of Trustees at state institutions of higher learning
are empowered to determine schedules of student fees; and
WHEREAS, on June 6, 2008, the Board of Trustees resolved to empower the Executive
Committee of the Board of Trustees to be authorized to adopt the 2008-09 fee schedule
after final legislative action was taken: and
WHEREAS, the Executive Committee of the Board of Trustees was also authorized to adopt
the Winthrop University operating budget on behalf of the Board once the General Assembly
had passed the Appropriations Act; and
WHEREAS, the members of the Executive Committee of the Board of Trustees at Winthrop
University have examined the fee structure at Winthrop University; and
WHEREAS, the members of the Executive Committee of the Board of Trustees have examined
the projected resources and projected commitments for 2008-2009; and
WHEREAS, the members of the Executive Committee of the Board recognize their fiduciary
responsibility to ensure that the University's budget strikes a balance between actual
resources and commitment;
THEREFORE, LET IT BE RESOLVED that the Executive Committee of the Board of Trustees
approves tuition and fees for 2008-2009 attached hereto and incorporated by reference;
and
LET IT BE FURTHER RESOLVED that the operating budget summary as reflected on the attached
Allocation Status Report be adopted by the Executive Committee of the Board of Trustees.
