WHEREAS, Winthrop University with grateful appreciation, does hereby acknowledge,
commend, and honor the distinguished service of David Vipperman as the designee of
Governor Sanford to the Winthrop University Board of Trustees from 2006 through 2011,
and
WHEREAS, he has demonstrated his commitment to Winthrop University and its tradition
of outstanding service by giving freely of his time and talents; and
WHEREAS, his participation on all the committees of the Board will long be evident
in the achievements of the University; and
WHEREAS, during his tenure, he lent advice and counsel on significant University projects,
and worked tirelessly to strengthen the University, and to further its progress toward
reaching its institutional goals and to fulfill its educational mission; and
WHEREAS, with his dedication to public service, he is an exemplar for our students
interested in community service and service learning;
THEREFORE, LET IT BE RESOLVED that the Trustees, the President, and the Winthrop University
faculty, staff and students do hereby convey their deep respect and profound gratitude
to David Vipperman and do commend him for the tireless dedication, vigorous advocacy,
and steadfast determination that he has consistently demonstrated on behalf of Winthrop
University.
