WHEREAS, President DiGiorgio has informed the Board of Trustees of Winthrop University
of his intention to retire as the 9th President of Winthrop University effective August
2013; and
WHEREAS, it is the responsibility of the Board of Trustees, pursuant to Chapter 125
of Title 59 of the 1976 Code of Laws of South Carolina, to select the President of
Winthrop University; and
WHEREAS, the Board of Trustees desires to consider using the advice and assistance
of a professional executive search company or consultant to help it fulfill its statutory
responsibility;
THEREFORE, LET IT BE RESOLVED that the Board of Trustees directs the Search and Selection
Committee to solicit requests for proposals from professional executive search companies
or consultants in accordance with existing South Carolina procurement policies.
