WHEREAS, Ximena Perez-Velazco, by virtue of her position as President of the Council of Student Leaders, has served as the student representative to the Winthrop University Board of Trustees during the 2018-19 academic year; and
WHEREAS, she has employed her concern for all people, her community spirit, and her
experience as a student leader to ensure that Winthrop University continues its tradition
of outstanding service to students and
community; and
WHEREAS, Ximena consistently shared thoughtful advice and counsel with the President and the Board and devoted herself to the fulfillment of Winthrop University’s mission; and
WHEREAS, Ximena has embodied the very best of Winthrop leadership through entering
the Emerging Leaders program, serving as an Orientation Leader and an executive member
of the Zeta Tau chapter of Alpha Delta Pi, and exemplifying academic excellence as
a Ronald E. McNair Scholar;
THEREFORE LET IT BE RESOLVED that the Winthrop University Board of Trustees and President
Dan Mahony recognize Ximena Perez-Velazco for his commitment to, support of, and distinguished
leadership in student endeavors
at Winthrop University.
