Resolution to Direct President Edward A. Serna to the Board at the October 2023 Meeting for a Plan to Address Disruptions at University Events Winthrop University and the Board of Trustees

WHEREAS, the Board is aware of the excitement and joy that accompany ceremonies such as graduation that are a milestone for our students; and

WHEREAS, the Board is cognizant of the need to balance such displays of excitement and joy during institution-sponsored ceremonies with the decorum of such ceremonies; and

WHEREAS, the Board understands the importance of protecting the rights of students and their families to enjoy the recognition of their achievements without disturbance from others; 

THEREFORE,LET IT BE RESOLVED that President Edward A. Serna shall present to the Board of Trustees at its October 2023 meeting a plan to address disruptions at University events.
