RESOLUTION OF THE WINTHROP UNIVERSITY BOARD OF TRUSTEES CREATION OF THE BACHELOR OF SCIENCE IN INTEGRATED MARKETING COMMUNICATION

WHEREAS, the Department of Mass Communication at Winthrop University recognizes the need to adapt its educational offerings to reflect the evolving dynamics of the media profession, particularly in the context of digital marketing and communication;

WHEREAS, the Bachelor of Science in Integrated Marketing Communication is being redesigned as a Bachelor of Arts to more effectively align with the changing requirements of the marketplace and the expectations of the profession;

WHEREAS, the redesigned program will require students to complete a Marketing minor, ensuring a comprehensive foundation in marketing principles alongside their Integrated Marketing Communication studies;

WHEREAS, the introduction of new classes and the revision of existing courses with updated names and descriptions will reflect the integration of the curriculum, keeping pace with industry trends and best practices;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that on March 13, 2024, the Winthrop University Board of Trustees hereby approves the transition of the Bachelor of Science in Integrated Marketing Communication to a Bachelor of Arts in Integrated Marketing Communication within the College of Arts and Sciences.

FURTHER RESOLVED, the Secretary to the Board of Trustees shall certify that the Winthrop University Board of Trustees approved this resolution on the 13th Day of March 2024, in a regularly called meeting. Such resolution shall be maintained and publicly posted by the Secretary of the Board in a time and manner as required by law.
