WHEREAS, pursuant to S.C. Code Ann. §59-125-1, et. seq., the Board of Trustees of Winthrop University is created and established as a body corporate for the purpose of effectuating the educational mission of Winthrop University;
WHEREAS, pursuant to Board of Trustees of Winthrop University Bylaws art. IV, (D), the Board of Trustees is responsible and empowered to approve the University’s fiscal year budget;
WHEREAS, the members of the Board of Trustees have examined the projected resources and projected commitments for 2023-2024; and
WHEREAS, the members of the Board recognize their fiduciary responsibility to ensure that the University’s budget strikes a balance between actual resources and commitments; and
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Trustees of Winthrop University adopt the budget proposed by President Edward A. Serna for Fiscal Year 2023-2024 as attached hereto and incorporated by reference herein.
