RESOLUTION OF THE WINTHROP UNIVERSITY BOARD OF TRUSTEES REGARDING INCREASING THE HEALTH SERVICES FEE DUE TO MARKET CONDITIONS

WHEREAS pursuant to S.C. Code Ann. §59–125–1, et. seq., the Board of Trustees of Winthrop University is created and established as a body corporate for the purpose of effectuating the educational mission of Winthrop University.

WHEREAS pursuant to the Winthrop University Board of Trustees Bylaws art. IV, §H, it is the Board of Trustee’s duty to oversee and set policies for the financial administration of the University, including the determination of student-related fees.

WHEREAS ongoing inflation and the continuing nationwide increase in health-related expenses have substantially increased the costs of providing health services to students.

WHEREAS it is necessary to adjust the health services fee to ensure the continued availability of comprehensive health services for all students, maintaining the quality and scope of healthcare support essential to student welfare.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that on April 25, 2024, the Winthrop University Board of Trustees hereby adopts an increase in the health services fee by $10 for the academic year 2024-2025.

FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary to the Board of Trustees shall certify that the Winthrop University Board of Trustees approved this resolution on the 25th of April, in a regular meeting scheduled by the Winthrop University Board of Trustees. Such resolution shall be maintained and publicly posted by the Secretary of the Board in a time and manner as required by law.
