Transfer

Meet a Student

Hey Everyone! My name is William Keen and I am a recent graduate with a Theatre Performance Major from Rock Hill with a minor in Religion. I transferred to Winthrop after attending Anderson University in Anderson, South Carolina for a full year. I transferred to Winthrop because I was looking to diversify my educational experience and because I liked the size of the campus and the various organizations that I could get involved in on campus. Since I have become involved on Winthrop's campus, I have grown to love this campus and everything that it has to offer its students.

Getting involved was a priority when I came to Winthrop. I looked at other students around campus and saw all the different organizations that they were a part of, and I wanted to be involved like them. I applied to become an Adult Student Mentor for University College Academic Advising, and that just got the ball rolling on everything that I have become involved with. Since then I have become a part of Pi Kappa Phi fraternity, a member of Alpha Psi Omega, a freshman Orientation Leader, and eventually to the position of a member of the Orientation Leadership Staff for the Office of New Student and Family Programs. Profile:Keen

When I came to Winthrop, I made it a goal to become involved and get the most out of my college experience. Since becoming involved with various organizations, I have grown as a leader and overall as a person; and I wouldn't be where I am today if I had not made the decision to transfer. I know transferring to another college can be a daunting task and can be very over whelming. But, I just want to let you know that Winthrop's faculty and staff are here for you to make that transition easier and to make you become a part of the Winthrop Community. I know that Winthrop has given me an education and experiences that I wouldn't change for the world. "Alma Mater, may your name be grand, Winthrop every stand."
