Shack Information and Agreement Sheet

Procedures for use of the Shack are intended to provide maximum availability of the facility while avoiding unnecessary fines. Your assistance in maintaining the Shack and immediate grounds is greatly appreciated.

Keys for the Shack are to be picked up at the DiGiorgio Campus Center Information Services Desk on the day of the event, unless otherwise approved, and returned on the same day, or the next day in case of an evening event. For events scheduled on Saturday or Sunday mornings, keys may be obtained from the DiGiorgio Campus Center Information Services Desk on the previous day.

Organizations or departments reserving the Shack are responsible for the members and guests attending your event and any damage to the facility or its furnishings.

General Rules

  1. Alcoholic beverages must be approved by the Assistant Director of Student Orgs & Leadership or the Associate Director for the DiGiorgio Campus Center Operations. A Sodexo bartender will be required to distribute beer or wine as well as security for events with alcohol.

  2. Food is catered by SODEXO for groups of 30+ (Review full requirements with the Asst. Director of Student Orgs

  3. No overnight groups allowed.

  4. The Shack may be used during these hours:
    Monday – Thursday                   7 a.m. – Midnight
    Friday & Saturday                      7 a.m. – 2 a.m.
    Sunday                                      7 a.m. – Midnight
  5. No live bands unless approved by the Assistant Director of Student Orgs or the Associate Director for the DiGiorgio Campus Center Operations. Note: The Shack is located in close proximity of a residential area and noise caries easily throughout the surrounding neighborhood.

  6. No fires in the fireplace.

  7. Limit parking to the adjacent lot from the Shack.

  8. Leave the Thermostat at 60 degrees in the winter and 80 degrees in the summer.

  9. Do not tape any painted surface, and remove all tape at conclusion of event.

  10. No Access to 2nd floor.

  11. No furniture is to be left outside on the patio.

  12. Do not block exits or air vents.

  13. No cooking is allowed in the kitchen.
    Note: The Kitchen is for Sodexo catering purposes only.

  14. All cleanups must immediately follow your event.

Groups are required to clean up after their event. Cleaning supplies are be located in the custodial closets in the bathrooms and entryway. The key to the building will open custodial closets. FAILURE TO CLEAN THE SHACK SATISFACTORILY WILL RESULT IN A FINE TO HAVE THE FACILITY CLEANED BY FACILITIES MANAGEMENT.

At the time the Shack key is returned to the Information Services desk in the DiGiorgio Campus Center, the Shack Cleanup Checklist MUST be completed.
