EY Lecture: Using AI to Deliver Business Solutions

Description: Ernst & Young (EY) professionals will deliver a lecture on the use of artificial intelligence (AI) in business and accounting. EY is one of the largest professional services firms in the world and one of the Big Four accounting firms. The firm provides audit, consulting, tax, business risk, and technology and security risk services globally. Given the increasing importance of technology and AI in business and the accounting profession, this lecture is very
timely and will help students learn about the latest trends and transformative power of AI.

L.I.F.T. Conference

Description: The Leadership Institute for First-Timers (L.I.F.T), is a one-day student leadership conference developed to provide new and continuing student leaders at Winthrop University with tools to equip them as on-campus leaders. This conference enables students to connect with one another, gain leadership skills, and learn more about themselves. The sessions are led by current students, as well as faculty, staff and alumni. We have three conference tracks to guide your experience: Belonging & Community, Communication and Leadership. Keynote Speaker event is where you receive credit, but please stay for the breakout sessions as there are amazing ones planned!

Description: Following his graduation from Winthrop University, Mr. Arpit Patel garnered substantial expertise in corporate risk management, corporate tax, and business analysis. Presently serving as a Control Senior Officer at Wells Fargo, Mr. Patel will share insights during the event. His discussion will encompass common risk management frameworks, the three lines of defense commonly employed in banking, and valuable tips to foster early career
success.

Presenter(s): Mr. Arpit Patel, a Control Senior Officer at Wells Fargo. He has over 10 years of work experience in risk management, business analysis, and corporate tax. He graduated from Winthrop University in 2007 and obtained a MBA degree from Wake Forest University.
