Approximately 190 projects covering more than 25 departments will be presented at
this Friday's showcase. This year marks the third annual Showcase of Undergraduate Research and Creative
Endeavors. 
ROCK HILL, SOUTH CAROLINA - Consider the following research abstract titles chosen
by Winthrop students:
Blank Space: White and Heavily Decorated Walls in the Learning Environment.
Gender in Television Toy Advertising Children.
"I Was Blown Up While We Were Eating Cheese": Deconstructing the Hero in A Farewell
to Arms.
Synthesis of Small Molecules for Inhibiting Aggregation of Alzheimer's Amyloid- Peptide.
These are just a few titles from the approximately 190 projects that will be displayed,
presented and performed at the Third Annual Showcase of Undergraduate Research and Creative Endeavors (SOURCE) on Friday, April 21, at Winthrop University.
This year's SOURCE showcase features projects from more than 25 departments-including
the sciences, English, mass communication, mathematics, history, political science,
social work, psychology and more-and includes live performances on the Barnes Recital
Hall stage and student work in Rutledge Gallery.
SOURCE celebrates and encourages all facets of undergraduate research, which is considered
a "high-impact practice" as identified by the American Association of Colleges and
Universities. Hosted by University College and the Undergraduate Research Office with the guidance and organizing expertise of Director Robin Lammi, SOURCE includes work from all five academic colleges on campus.
