Students - November 6, 2023

Fellow Eagles!

It’s been 5 long years since the water flowed from the iconic Winthrop fountain. And now, after fewer than 150 days (thanks to our contractors, Southern Builders), we are ready to feature the flow once again. Join me at the fountain plaza at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, November 8, to celebrate the amazing progress that’s been made!

While a more formal event will be held in the spring to acknowledge the many donors and everyone who had a hand in the project, this will be a time for the campus to come together to capture the moment when the fountain comes back to life. We will go live on Facebook, and even hopefully get some of our ROTC students to raise Old Glory on the new flagpole as well.

This event has just been added to the official Homecoming schedule, and I look forward to the fountain flowing again as a welcome to our alumni Eagles who will descend on Winthrop later in the week for Homecoming and Reunion 2023!

Wear your garnet and gold, and come out for this brief gathering. Can’t wait to see you there!
