GPA Calculator

Steps for calculating your grade point average:

  1. Determine your grade points for each class.

    • A = 4 grade points
    • A- = 3.67 grade points
    • B+ = 3.33 grade points
    • B = 3 grade points
    • B- = 2.67 grade points
    • C+ = 2.33 grade points
    • C = 2 grade points
    • C- = 1.67 grade points
    • D+ = 1.33 grade points
    • D = 1 grade point
    • D- = 0.67 grade points
    • F = 0 grade points

  2. Calculate your quality points for each class.
Quality points = grade points X course credit hours

NOTE: Courses being audited or taken on the S/U basis are not used in grade calculation.

  3. Compute your total quality points and total credit hours by adding the quality points and credit hours earned in each class.

  4. Calculate your grade point average (GPA).
GPA = total quality points / total credit hours

Example:

Course Grade Grade Points Quality Hours Quality Points
WRIT101 B 3 3 9
MATH150 C+ 2.33 3 6.99
NUTR201 B 3 4 12
PSYC101 A- 3.67 3 11.01
ACAD101 B 3 1 3
Total 14 42

GPA = total quality points (42) / total quality hours (14) = 3.00
