Master of Science in Sport and Fitness Administration 

In addition to the general requirements for admission to graduate study at Winthrop, the applicant must also submit:

1. The online Graduate Studies application with the non-refundable application fee.

2. Official transcript(s) from all institutions attended for undergraduate and graduate coursework. Transcripts must be sent directly to Winthrop's Graduate Studies office from the issuing institution(s). 

3. Personal Statement Essay - Statements should elaborate on the applicant's educational background, professional and volunteer experiences, and qualifications for the program. Applicants should also speak to why they believe Winthrop University's MS in Sport and Fitness Administration (SPFA) program is the right program for them and the goals they hope to achieve if accepted into the program. Essays should not exceed 500 words.

4. Resume or CV- Document should be no more than two pages and should include any sport or fitness-related work history.

5. Two recommendations using Winthrop's recommendation form.

6. Have an undergraduate degree minimum GPA of a 3.0 out of a 4.0 scale. GPAs below 3.0 can be considered based on an applicant’s GPA in related course content. 

 

Notice to International F-1 Graduate Applicants:

Per U.S. Immigration Regulation, international students who study in the U.S. in F-1 status may enroll in one, 3-hour online course per semester to fulfill the full-time enrollment requirement. This program requires more than one online class per semester to meet full-time enrollment and would not be approved for F-1 status.
