What We Do

Students on LaptopTo align with the Strategic Vision for Online Education at Winthrop University, our Mission is to support

  • the delivery of quality, accessible online, hybrid, and technology-enhanced courses;
  • the design, development, and assessment of instructional strategies and materials; and
  • the use of the learning management system and integrated software for faculty, staff, and students.

Winthrop University's Office of Online Learning provides the following services:

  • system administration for the Blackboard learning management system (LMS)
  • training and technical support for users of the LMS and integrated software
  • instructional design support for faculty

Instructional Design

Student on LaptopOur Mission is to assist faculty in the design, development, and assessment of instructional strategies and materials for quality, accessible online, hybrid, and technology-enhanced classroom-based courses in support of the strategic goals of Winthrop University.

The Learning Design team offers the following services:

  1. Online and hybrid course design and redesign.
  2. Online pedagogical support.
  3. Recommending technology-integrated instructional strategies to enhance the learning environment for 21st century learners and promote engagement, collaboration, and interactivity.
  4. Individual and group consultations.
  5. Professional development workshops.
  6. Provision and development of tutorial materials and resources.
