The Major

Bachelor of Arts in Psychology

classroomThe major in psychology is especially useful to students planning careers in teaching, personnel work, guidance and counseling, mental health, and rehabilitation. Many psychology graduates also find employment in business and industry.

We recommend students majoring in psychology take PSYC 101, 104198, and fulfill their Math general education requirement during their first year; PSYC 301-302, and perhaps one or two fundamental PSYC courses (see below) during their sophomore year; one of the capstone experience courses (see below) during their final year; and PSYC 404 during their last semester.

  • PSYC 404, Exit from the Psychology Major (0 hours)
  • Choose three fundamental courses (9 hours) from:
