Through an agreement between Winthrop's College of Education, Sport, and Human Sciences and Ellson Education, members of the Winthrop University-School Partnership Network (faculty, teachers, and upper-level teacher candidates) have an opportunity for a unique personal and professional experience in China! Experiences are available for the month of July OR for an entire year or more.

In 2013, Winthrop University entered a partnership with the Shanghai Far East School (SFES) in Shanghai, China to provide teacher candidates the opportunity to study abroard during their final semester at Winthrop. As an international school focused on providing their students opportunities to expand cultural awareness and experience diverse learning experiences, SFES is the perfect environment in which teacher candidates can flourish as true professional educators. Since 2003, Winthrop University has maintained a strong partnership with the Dominican Republic to provide global learning opportunities for teacher candidates. One specific initiative is to provide candidates the opportunity to teach abroad during their final semester at Winthrop. Colegio Dominicano is a PK-12 school located in Santiago that has a focus on developing students' English language abilities.
