Winthrop Programs

Exchange Programs

Winthrop University has student exchange agreements with eight foreign universities. With exchange programs, Winthrop students pay their regular tuition to Winthrop and study at one of our partner universities abroad. After their semester or year overseas, students who participate in these exchange programs receive transfer credit upon successful completion of their program.

Currently, Winthrop's Exchange Partners Include:

  • Australia: Deakin University
  • Finland:  LAB University of Applied Sciences — Imatra Art School
  • Germany: Universität Flensburg
  • Japan: Kansai Gaidai University 
  • New Zealand:  Otago Polytechnic — Dunedin School of Art
  • Norway: Agder University
  • Sweden: Jönköping University
  • Taiwan: Ming Chuan University

Partner Programs

Winthrop University also has thirteen partnerships with international institutions and organizations. With these partner programs, Winthrop students pay their regular tuition to Winthrop and study at one of our partner universities abroad.  After their semester or year overseas, students who participate in these partner programs receive transfer credit upon successful completion of their program.

  • Costa Rica: Veritas University (CEA)

  • France:  CIEF Language School (University of Burgundy)
  • Ireland: Dublin Business School (FIE)
  • Italy: Florence University of the Arts (SAI) 
  • Panama: Panama City Campus (Florida State University) 
  • Spain: Universidad de Seville and Universidad de Pablo Olavide (ASA)

National Student Exchange

Students can pay WU tuition and study away for a semester or academic year at over 180 institutions in the contintental United States, U.S. territories (Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico, Guam), and Canada.

Unapproved Programs

Students wishing to petition Winthrop to participate in a currently unapproved program must submit full program information and documentation six months prior to the Winthrop application deadline. E-mail studyabroad@winthrop.edu for instructions and further details.
